Quarter 2

Multiplication & Division Strategies
  • Identify multiplication patterns in the multiplication table using properties of operations (3.OA.9)
  • Apply properties of operations as strategies to multiply and divide
  • Interpret products and quotients of whole numbers by journaling, modeling, and providing context (3.OA.1,2) (basic facts to 12)
  • Use place value strategies and properties of operations to multiply one-digit whole numbers by multiples of 10 (10-90) (3.NBT.3)
  • Use multiplication and division within 100 to solve word problems in situations involving equal groups, arrays, and measurement quantities, e.g. by using drawings and equations with a symbol for the unknown number to represent the problem. (3.OA.3)
  • Use a variety of strategies to reach fluency in multiplying and dividing within 100 (3.OA.7) FLUENCY STANDARD

  • Tell and write time to the nearest minute (3.MD.1)
  • Measure time intervals (elapsed time) in minutes (3.MD.1)
  • Solve word problems (+/-) involving time intervals (elapsed time) in minutes (3.MD.1)

Multiplication & Division Strategies
  • Determine the unknown whole number in a multiplication or division equation (3.OA.4, 6)

Problem Solving
  • Solve two-step word problems using the four operations. Represent these problems using equations with a letter standing for the unknown quantity. Assess the reasonableness of answers using mental computation and estimation strategies including rounding. (3.OA.8)
